THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN 2: THE SPECTACULAR EDITION
ABOUT
From Amazing to Spectacular
In 2014 I watched The Amazing Spider-Man 2 in theaters. It was the first Spider-Man movie I actually got to see in theaters as a matter of fact. My mom dropped me and my younger brother off at the auditorium as she went off to go watch something else with my sister. I was 10 years old at the time. I surprisingly liked the movie, which was shocking since little 7 year old me refused to watch the first film because Spider-Man 4's cancelation. Now I look back on this film and this failed franchise and I am saddened. There was so much potential that simply wasn't lived up upon. I will always love the Raimi Trilogy, those are my favorite films of all time, but Andrew Garfield became my favorite actor recently, due to his performances in this film, Tick...Tick... BOOM!, and Hacksaw Ridge. With Spider-Man: No Way Home also being a major benefit to my love of the actor. I wanted to put something together that allowed people to see this movie for something more than what it was set out to be, an aimless and rushed attempt at a cinematic universe, and make it a much better film. I want to dedicate this film to Stan Lee, Steve Ditko, Tim Sale, and James Horner. Who were each incredibly important to making Spider-Man into my favorite character in fiction. Lee and Ditko created the foundation, Horner gave a new voice to the music of Spider-Man, and Sale illustrated one of the most beautiful graphic novels in Marvel's entire catalogue. I'm so happy to work on this project and I hope it is enjoyed and beloved.
